The pattern on this piece mirrors the view from points on the Appalachian Trail near Thunderhead Mountain in eastern Tennessee.
The exterior is brilliant unglazed porcelain, and the interior is glazed gloss my white.
I make these large bowls by pigmenting my white porcelain a deep grey-green, and layering it to create a stratified, ridgelike effect.
