I recently discovered the method for making this new body of work while trying to heal my torn biceps tendon. These pieces evoke the sensation of traveling on Road 17 through the redwood hills between Santa Cruz and San Jose... during a wild time in my early 20's, a feeling that still lives in me today.
The exterior is brilliant unglazed matte porcelain, and the interior has a glossy clear glaze over the white clay.

All pieces at Jowdy Studio are handmade from porcelain that is fired to over 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. All pieces are food-safe, and are microwave and dishwasher safe. However, we recommend careful handwashing.
