Sabie Mug
A sunrise on one side, moonrise on the other, as the hills reflect the geological variations of Mpumalanga in eastern South Africa.
Using the method I developed to create my Ridge vases, I make each mug by staining my white porcelain a range of hues, and layering it to create a stratified,l landscape effect. The exterior is brilliant unglazed porcelain, and the interior has a glossy clear glaze over the white clay.
Due to their handmade nature, each mug is slightly different, and will not be exactly as pictured.

All pieces at Jowdy Studio are handmade from porcelain that is fired to over 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. All pieces are food-safe, and are microwave and dishwasher safe. However, we recommend careful handwashing.
