Sedona Floating Vase

The landscape depicted here is a composite of features and ridges where I love to explore — the Sitgreaves range east of Sedona.
This vase featured a tall “hidden” foot, which causes it to appear to float above the tabletop.
I made a limited series of these vases and bowls by staining my white porcelain, and layering it to create a stratified effect.
The exterior is brilliant unglazed porcelain, and the interior has a glossy clear glaze over the white clay.
