When You Walk to Me #1
Part of my COLLISIONS series using a lush palette of hues developed over the summer, this vessel features two compositions -- an abstract evocation of what I feel when my wife quite literally walks by me; and another composition that can be seen as an abstract two-dimensional arrangement, or a figurative depiction of architecture. The slippage between the two is rich with the meanings we bring to the work.
Pigmented Porcelain, 22k gold

The COLLISIONS series is concerned with intimacy and perspective. Their surface compositions evoke and reflect on the sensations of encountering another's body, the intensity of being near but not touching, and the simple astonishment of truly seeing the world through another person's perspective.
