When We Run on the Pier
Do you remember the joy of holding hands and running with a friend? Part of my COLLISIONS series, this vessel features two abstract compositions -- one an evocation of the sensation of dashing down the skinny wooden pier at my family's home on the Pamlico River; and another composition focusing on the shifting balance of our bodies in that space.
Pigmented porcelain, glaze

The COLLISIONS series is concerned with intimacy and perspective. Their surface compositions evoke and reflect on the sensations of encountering another's body, the intensity of being near but not touching, and the simple astonishment of truly seeing the world through another person's perspective.
