Floating Bowl from Fallingwater Monmade Design Residency
*USPS Priority Shipping Included*
The surface patterns on this piece draws inspiration from the main living room at Fallingwater—reflections of the way the three high shelves float atop the fireplace and abut the Craftsman lines of the adjacent window. In homage to Frank Lloyd Wright's use of Japanese architectural details, these pieces' forms are derived from traditional Japanese tea bowls, or chawan.
As such, this bowl features a short “hidden” foot, which causes it to appear to float above the tabletop on which it sits.
