The seascape depicted on this one-of-a-kind statement piece is purely from my fantasies of island-skipping to surf around Fiji.
This bowl features a short “hidden” foot, taken in part from an iconic teabowl shape — which causes the piece to appear to float above the surface on which it sits.
I made a limited series of each style of these vases and bowls by staining my white porcelain, and layering it to create a stratified effect.
The exterior is brilliant unglazed porcelain, and the interior has a glossy clear glaze over the white clay.

All pieces at Jowdy Studio are handmade from porcelain that is fired to over 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. All pieces are food-safe, and are microwave and dishwasher safe. However, we recommend careful handwashing.
