The vivid greens of this piece reflect the lush fecundity of my childhood home in eastern North Carolina, where I learned to hunt.
One paradox here is that our hunting season stretches from autumn to winter, when all the vegetation has temporarily died back. Not so with this piece.
The exterior is brilliant unglazed matte porcelain, and the interior has a glossy clear glaze over the white clay.
